New Blank Map Definition                                               Back to Saving Maps Page

Within the Map Definition dialogue, the New Blank Map Definition tool allows you to create a new blank map (i.e. contains only the Basemap layers). This is useful when you want to start from a blank canvas and begin building a map from the beginning again.

1. Click on the Show Map Definitions button on the toolbar to open the Map Definitions dialogue.
2. To create a new blank map definition (i.e. a new map containing only the Basemap layers) click on the 'New Blank Map Definition' tool . This is the tool on the left-hand side of the Map Definition dialogue.
3. This creates a new blank map for the user. A 'blank' map in the GeoHub Map Viewer contains the only the Basemap layers in the Table of Contents and on the map canvas. You can then continue as normal e.g. by adding any layers of interest and saving new map definitions.
